NEXT DOOR

Nextdoor is a website that is designed to link residents of neighborhoods to each other. People who sign up for Nextdoor share information about local events, suspicious activities, sales at local businesses, and so forth. Local government agencies often join Nextdoor so they too can communicate current conditions of possible interest. The Nextdoor neighborhood for our area (“Ventu/Lynn Rd”) is slightly larger than just Ventu Park but nevertheless has information that might be of interest to members of our community.

READY VENTURA COUNTY

READY VC https://www.readyventuracounty.org/about-us/

The Ready Campaign was launched in February 2003. Ready is a national public service advertising (PSA) campaign designed to educate and empower Americans to prepare for and respond to emergencies including natural and man- made disasters. The goal of the campaign is to get the public involved and ultimately to increase the level of basic preparedness across the nation.

In partnership with FEMA and the Ad Council, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office of Emergency Services localized the Ready campaign in 2011 to assist Ventura County residents in preparing for, responding to and recovering from a local emergency or disaster within our community.

This site has dozens of links to government agencies, colleges and universities, non-profit organizations and business groups involved in fire safety. They provide emergency alerts, hazard mitigation programs and other emergency information.
